BIG BITE 036
within recent years (and still now) i've had this strong affinity towards western/cowboy culture/kinds of things. my mom was also weirdly into it too when i was younger and i HATED it so bad. i wanted nothing to do with this weird rustic sort of barnyard vibe that she was all about. i'm really curious as to why she had such a fixation on this theme. maybe the subject of cowboys really spoke to something within her that she couldn't quite tap in to in the middle of siberia.
one of her favorite movies ever is the 3 Amigos (with steve martin, martin short, and chevy chase (insane cast)), which i'll admit i also loved deep down (though my tweenage self couldn't admit it to her).
she references it all the time.
i remember when i was in middle school she made us all go to this Cow Town museum when we visited the midwest. i begged her to let me stay behind. we got into a huge fight over this very unserious ordeal.
years later i find myself really rocking with this cowboy naturesque air about life. something about the solitude, being out in some grass and red rock with your rifle. wearing a sick bolo tie and hat. i probably like it for much different reasons than my mother did; maybe it's not different at all. anyway. stick that straw in your mouth and find a horse.
